15kg – 1.2mm ER2209 Duplex Stainless Steel 

For welding wrought, forged or cast 22Cr duplex stainless steels for severe service in the as-welded condition.
Heterogeneous welding between 22Cr duplex stainless steels and other stainless and low alloyed steels.

Welding typically of materials EN 1.4462, S32205, SAF 2205 or Casting grade equivalents.

Features: 

Resistance to Pitting and Chloride induced stress corrosion cracking is maintained with Ferrite levels >30-50FN & PREN >35 typically. 
The microstructure of the weld metal consists of austenite and ferrite 
Welding of duplex stainless steels calls for controlled welding parameters to achieve specified mechanical and corrosion resistant properties 
Care should be taken with welding heat input & Interpass temperature to ensure correct microstructure is achieved with approximately 50/50 austenite and Ferrite matrix. 
Gas – Ar+2%C02 or Ar+5%C02 Argon/helium could also be used to prevent oxidation of the weld metal.
